Error Message: “Bad Command Structure”
error message occurs when you
extract files from a compressed folder
Translation: You’ve discovered another
minor bug in WinXP when you try to extract
a compressed file but only if you
type in a directory that does not exist on
your computer.
Solution: WinXP has built-in file compression
capabilities. This error occurs when you
right-click on a compressed file (with a .ZIP
extension) and decide to extract the file.
WinXP presents a dialog box where you can
type in the directory for the extracted file. If
you type in an invalid destination, you’ll
receive an error that WinXP was unable to create
the directory. Microsoft will undoubtedly
address this problem in the next WinXP service
pack.
